NYC Local Law 84 – EPA ENERGY STAR Benchmark Your Building’s Energy and Water Use

The August 1 Legal Deadline Has Passed! To Avoid Fines, Penalties & Violations, get your building benchmarked by November 1, 2011.

Under NYC LL84 (Local Law 84) New York City now requires that energy and water use for all buildings over 50,000 square feet be benchmarked under the EPA ENERGY STAR system. The resulting benchmarking score must then be reported to the city.

ENERGY STAR Benchmarking is the first step to energy efficiency and in New York City, now it’s the law.

According to NYC Local Law 84, as of May 1, 2011 all buildings 50,000 sf and larger must have ENERGY STAR Benchmarked and reported their building’s energy & water use. As part of PlaNYC 2030, your building’s reported ENERGY STAR benchmarking score will soon be part of the public record.

The Cotocon Group can manage the NYC Local Law 84 requirements and simultaneously help you save money and make your building more competitive.
