The Benchmarking Ordinance has two major purposes: to improve energy efficiency of the built environment and to save money on energy costs. The Office of Sustainability manages the city’s energy benchmarking program, which helps building owners reduce their energy use and save money.
If you are a commercial or multifamily building owner or manager in Philadelphia with an indoor floor space larger than 50,000 square feet, then you are required by this ordinance to submit an energy usage report.
June 30th of every year.
Building owners must report their energy usage data to EPA’s Portfolio Manager. The Cotocon Group can help you with your benchmarking.
$300 for failure to comply during the first 30 days – $100 per day thereafter.
